Tesco Czech Republic has introduced a new concept for its store on Prague’s Národní třída. This store is Tesco’s flagship, as it was first opened in 1996, marking Tesco’s entry into the Czech market. The store has undergone a major renovation. The focus was on design, materials, lighting and sustainability.
What we solved:
This time we received a slightly different brief from Tesco, which already included product design from the Tesco design team in India and the UK, plus some requirements from Tesco operations. Our objective was to work out the supplied design in order for complete manufacture to take place. It was necessary to draw technical drawings, produce prototypes and after subsequent approval, manufacture and install the required products.
How it all worked:
We created drawings, sketches and visualizations based on customer specifications, these were then supplied to Tesco and together we refined the details. After collaborative approval of our designs, prototypes were made and provided to Tesco for testing. Details were once again fine-tuned and adjustments made based on Tesco’s feedback before going into full production. The project then efficiently followed our installation program to completion.
How it finished:
We successfully designed the technical/structural solution for the stands. Most of the items supplied were modified throughout the process, considering both dimensions and materials, and the final design was partially modified.
